Birds, especially song birds have been an interest of hers for many years.  She got started carving after several years of painting her spouse, John, carvings.  His first carving in 1989 was a bufflehead duck, which he painted, she looked at it and said "I could do a better job than that".  and with that,  it was her job.   Together they won over 30 best of show awards, participated in wildlife art shows and wood carving shows from South Carolina to New York and west to Indiana.

Amy started carving miniature song birds in 1997 and is now making  birds of prey,

wading birds and game birds and full sized song birds - no ducks to date.   Her goal is  to create detailed realistic representations of the birds she carves.
